John Sunwoo
Bio:
(M’99) received his B.E. (’03) and M.S. (’05) degrees in electrical engineering from Auburn University, AL and M.Eng. (’11) degree in biomedical engineering from Cornell University, NY. From 2005 to 2010, he worked at Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Korea, as a research Engineer. His research has been in the fields of built-in self-test (BIST) for FPGAs, gesture recognition and fabric area network for wearable computers, modeling of blood flow in the cortical vasculature, modeling of interneuronal circuitry in the spinal cord.
Current areas of interest include functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy imaging for mathematical input-output modeling to determine the functional mechanisms relating cardiorespiratory and peripheral vascular responses to a variety of “stress” stimuli, such as induced change in skin temperature or mental tasks in Sickle Cell Disease.
